Exploiting Agent and IoT Technologies for Supporting Elderly People at Home
Abstract
In this seminar, we introduce our latest results of assistive technologies for in-home elderly people. In our approch, we extensively use the agent technologies called "Mei-chan" to externalize the internal mind of the elderly people. Mei-chan on a PC or a smart phone autonomously ask a elderly person about his/her conditions and events. As the elderly person replies, then Mei-chan record the text data, characterizing the current state of the person. The conversational data can be viewed by the elderly person oneself.
We also implemented a Web application that extracts daily health data using the text-mining. Using the application, the elderly people can review their health data to aware the daily living. We also introduce ALPS, which provides useful information by voice using IoT speakers and an ECA rule-based engine.
