LabNbook

The online notebook for writing and learning sciences

labnbook

LabNbook has a high potential for the development of researches on scientific writing and computer-supported collaborative learning.

Supporting student-centered pedagogies with technology

LabNbook has been designed to support any kind of student-centered pedagogies: project-based, problem-based, collaborative (synchronous & asynchronous), blended, personalized learning, and much more!
Usual collaboration features are embedded in the platform: shared resources, messages, contextualized chats, and teachers’ annotations.
Research concerns: we analyze the evolution of the teachers’ pedagogies mediated by the use of LabNbook through a 3-years longitudinal study.

Collaborative writing of scientific documents by learners

LabNbook offers shared writing spaces where teams of students produce collaboratively scientific documents such as lab or project reports, lab notebooks…
The teacher defines the learning scenario by structuring the scientific document and providing the assignments, the available resources and the tools usage rights.
The students make up their scientific documents by aggregating different types of writings: texts, drawings, tables, charts, scientific data models and experimental protocols.
At any time, the teacher can monitor the students’ progress and annotate the productions.
Reaserch concerns: we study the acceptance, usages and scaffolding capacities of the tools embedded in LabNbook for scientific writing.
